EcoFin: Journal of Economics and Financial Accounting follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both the authors' and reviewers' identities are kept confidential to maintain objectivity and scholarly integrity.

Review Stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening

    • The editor evaluates whether the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope and meets basic formatting requirements.

    • Manuscripts failing this stage will be returned to the authors without further review.

  2. Reviewer Assignment

    • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

    • The review is conducted anonymously (double-blind).

  3. Reviewer Evaluation

    • Reviewers assess the manuscript for originality, significance, clarity, and methodological rigor.

    • Recommendations may include: accept without revision, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit (major revisions), or reject.

  4. Editorial Decision

    • The editor reviews the feedback from the reviewers and makes a final decision: accept, request revision, or reject.

    • Authors are given a specific time frame to revise their manuscripts according to reviewer comments.

  5. Re-review (if needed)

    • Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation, especially in the case of major revisions.

  6. Final Decision and Publication

    • Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting and will be scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue.
