Peer Review Process
EcoFin: Journal of Economics and Financial Accounting follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both the authors' and reviewers' identities are kept confidential to maintain objectivity and scholarly integrity.
Review Stages:
-
Initial Editorial Screening
-
The editor evaluates whether the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope and meets basic formatting requirements.
-
Manuscripts failing this stage will be returned to the authors without further review.
-
-
Reviewer Assignment
-
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.
-
The review is conducted anonymously (double-blind).
-
-
Reviewer Evaluation
-
Reviewers assess the manuscript for originality, significance, clarity, and methodological rigor.
-
Recommendations may include: accept without revision, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit (major revisions), or reject.
-
-
Editorial Decision
-
The editor reviews the feedback from the reviewers and makes a final decision: accept, request revision, or reject.
-
Authors are given a specific time frame to revise their manuscripts according to reviewer comments.
-
-
Re-review (if needed)
-
Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation, especially in the case of major revisions.
-
-
Final Decision and Publication
-
Once accepted, the manuscript proceeds to copyediting and will be scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue.
